Meet Jesus A. Osete

Your Candidate for Circuit Judge

Serving Boone and Callaway Counties

A dedicated legal professional with a heart rooted in Missouri, Jesus A. Osete has a deep understanding of our state’s legal system. With years of experience in some of Missouri’s most pivotal legal positions, he stands ready to serve as Circuit Judge for Missouri’s 13th Judicial Circuit, ensuring justice is delivered fairly and consistently in Boone and Callaway Counties.

In his journey through the legal landscape, Jesus distinguished himself as an attorney in private practice, where he focused on appellate, constitutional, and commercial disputes. However, it was his public service to Missouri that truly sets him apart. He served with honor as the General Counsel to our Secretary of State, and as Deputy Attorney General and Deputy Solicitor General. It was during this public service that the grandson of a mechanic became the lawyer who litigated against the President of the United States at the U.S. Supreme Court.

His commitment to fair representation and justice has been evident throughout his career. He’s successfully presented arguments in high-profile cases not just on the national stage at the U.S. Supreme Court, but also right here in our state, before the Missouri Supreme Court.

Further preparing him for the role of Circuit Judge, Jesus honed his skills under the mentorship of legal luminaries. He clerked for a federal judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals and for the Chief Justice of the Missouri Supreme Court.

Educated at the esteemed Washington University in St. Louis, Jesus emerged with a law degree and invaluable experience as the Senior Executive Editor of the Washington University Law Review. Before his accomplished legal career, he proudly served as a staffer in the U.S. Senate and completed his undergraduate studies in political science and pre-law at the University of Arizona.

Beyond his work, Jesus is an active pillar in the Missouri community. As a notable speaker for civic groups and a trustee for the Supreme Court of Missouri Historical Society, he has consistently showcased his commitment to our state’s rich history and its legal foundations.

With accolades such as being named Influential Lawyer by the Missouri Lawyer, chosen for the prestigious Originalism Summer Seminar at Georgetown University and being among a select group for the Missouri Bar’s Leadership Academy, Jesus’s qualifications are clear.
